Oganihi Etche is a social cultural association of Etche ethnic indigenes of Rivers State of Nigeria, with other interested friendly individuals who voluntarily wish to identify themselves with the Etche people resident in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
We are a subsidiary of Ogbako Etche, a bigger umbrella of Etche association based in Nigeria.
Oganihi Etche United Kingdom and Ireland was founded in United Kingdom, in the year 1989. Etche geo-political areas comprises of indigenous communities with two local governments areas, Etche and Omuma local government authorities, with their headquarters at Okehi and Eberi, respectively.
Etche is one community but for administrative purpose was divided into two local government areas of Etche and Omuma.
The entire Etche ethnic communities are made up of about 372 hamlets, villages and towns.
According to the Rivers State Office of Statistics and Records, the landmass covers about one thousand, five hundred square Kilometres and a population of about 501,312, countable adults.
History mentions that Etche indigenes were the first ethnic nationalities group which settled in Rivers State.
Etche is bounded from the North by both Ngor Okpala local government area of Imo State, and Osisoma and Ugwa local governments areas of Abia State respectively, from the West by Ikwere local government area, East Oyibo local government area and also, South by Obio or Akpor local government area, all in Rivers State.
